Sheriff of Bernalillo County

Paul is running for Sheriff of Bernalillo County and wants to make a difference in the community. He has been a law enforcement officer for 27 years, including at the Albuquerque Police Department. He also served as a State House of Representative for District 23 and as the deputy cabinet secretary for the Department of Corrections. He also has a bachelor’s degree in management with a minor in law enforcement.

The Sheriff of Bernalillo County is appointed to serve the citizens of Bernalillo County. Sheriff White started his term on January 1, 2007. He is a former Cabinet Secretary for the New Mexico Department of Public Safety and a nationally recognized public safety advocate. He also has a diverse law enforcement background, having served in both the Albuquerque and Houston police departments. He graduated from both police academies with honors. He also served in the United States Army.

The decedent was a resident of Bernalillo County and not an employee of the Sheriff’s Department. However, he had driven the deputy’s car four or five hours prior to the accident. It is possible that the deputy was negligent or reckless, but this would require a jury to determine negligence.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office will be featured on REELZ’s ‘On Patrol’ show this Friday. The show aims to make law enforcement more transparent.
